Meet the founder, Lucy
Before becoming a movement coach, I worked as a professional dancer and circus artist in London. In my pursuit of a career in the art form I had loved since childhood, I lost myself. The pressure to be perfect, the constant competition, rejection, and the relentless demands of the industry slowly stripped away my love for my craft.
I no longer wanted to chase an unattainable ideal; I wanted to understand movement in a way that felt free, strong, and deeply connected. That shift led me to coaching and cutting down on performing as much—not as an escape, but as a way to redefine my relationship with movement and help others do the same. For me, movement isn't about forcing shapes or chasing extremes—it's about creating space, feeling strong, and moving with confidence.
My experience in movement spans across disciplines—circus, dance, pilates, boxing, and yoga—all of which have taught me that movement is more than just physical; it’s a mindset, a way to process life, and a tool for deep self-expression. Performing aerial acrobatics in multiple places worldwide showed me the thrill of pushing my body to the limit, but it was in teaching and coaching that I found true fulfilment. I’ve worked with people of all backgrounds, from professional athletes to young children, helping them build strength, confidence, and trust in their own abilities.
Our relationship with movement is often deeply intertwined with body image, but it doesn’t have to be rooted in self-judgment or unrealistic expectations. This is something I’m constantly working on myself—I find it challenging to accept even the small changes in my body. But movement should be a celebration of what our bodies can do, not a punishment for how they look. By shifting the focus from appearance to ability, we can cultivate a healthy, sustainable relationship with movement—one that feels empowering, freeing, and deeply fulfilling.
Building a community has always been important to me, and I wanted to expand that connection beyond the online world. That’s why I started Been Busy—a wellness and lifestyle brand dedicated to transforming how people experience movement, presence, and community.
Been Busy is more than just a brand; it’s a way of living—one rooted in collaboration, joy, and an active, conscious lifestyle.
